Discount TRT Lab Testing FAQs

Common Questions
If you're starting or currently on testosterone replacement therapy, you may have questions about self-service bloodwork, timing, and what’s included. This TRT Lab Testing FAQs section answers the most common concerns so you can order with confidence.
Do I need a doctor’s order to purchase these labs?
No. These are self-pay, self-service labs. While a physician affiliated with our platform reviews and authorizes the order behind the scenes, you do not need your own doctor to initiate or approve the testing. You can order directly through our site without involving your personal provider.
Are these labs suitable for people on TRT or HRT?
Yes. These lab panels are specifically designed for individuals on testosterone or hormone replacement therapy. They include key markers your provider may want to review, such as testosterone levels, estradiol, PSA, thyroid function, and more.
Do you provide any medical advice or interpretation of the results?
No. We do not offer consultations, treatment, or medical interpretation related to hormone replacement therapy (HRT/TRT). These labs are self-service and intended for informational use only.
However, if you’re interested in integrative health support to rebalance your body naturally—such as guidance on nutrition, energy, digestion, or inflammation—we do offer separate consultations in that area. For HRT-specific recommendations, please review your results with your prescribing provider.
Visit https://mindfulobjective.com for more information.
How often should I run these labs if I’m on HRT/TRT?
- Initial Baseline (Before Starting HRT)
- 6–8 Weeks After Starting or Changing Dose
- Every 3–6 Months (During First Year)
- Every 6–12 Months (Long-Term Maintenance)
- Yearly Complete Labs Regardless
Do I need to fast before my blood draw?
Some lab panels do require fasting for accurate glucose, insulin, or lipid measurements. If fasting is recommended for your selected panel, you’ll receive instructions after checkout. In most cases, 8–12 hours of fasting is sufficient.
We always recommend fasting for labs to be safe.
What payment methods are accepted?
Credit Cards are used as forms of payment, and are highly suggested method of payment.
Can I use insurance to pay for these labs?
No. These are self-pay labs and are not billable to insurance. However, because they are often significantly cheaper than going through insurance-based labs, they can be a great option for cash-paying clients.
Can I pay with HSA or FSA?
You can enter an HSA or FSA card number right on the payment page, but coverage is ultimately up to your plan provider. They may follow up for more information to determine coverage. We encourage client to consult their plan administrator to confirm coverage in advance.
This is why we suggest paying via your credit card so that there are no issues with your order.
Is my information secure?
Your information is our top priority, and we implement robust security measures to safeguard your data. Transparency about how your data is used is essential to us, ensuring that you can trust our system to protect your privacy actively.

Note – Some specialized labs, like IGF-1, RT3, and a few others take longer.
Where do I go to get my blood drawn?
After placing your order, you’ll receive a lab requisition form and instructions. You can take this to a LabCorpnear you for your blood draw.

Normal HRT/TRT labs are in person at LabCorp, while some functional labs are at-home tests that are sent directly to your home.
Have a question, ask!
Are these lab results accepted by my doctor?
Yes. These labs are processed through CLIA-certified national laboratories and are widely accepted by most healthcare providers. We recommend sharing your results with your medical doctor or prescribing provider for review and documentation.
Running labs outside of your provider’s office often gives you access to more comprehensive panels at a significantly lower cost, without needing insurance or a referral. This approach empowers you to take control of your health while still allowing your doctor to make informed decisions based on reliable data.
Can I buy these labs for someone else?
Labs must be ordered under the correct legal name and date of birth of the person being tested. Each individual must complete their own requisition and draw.
How are these labs different from ones ordered by my doctor?
These labs are the same clinical-grade tests used by healthcare providers, but they’re offered directly to you without needing a doctor’s visit. You order them yourself, pay out of pocket, and receive your results securely online.
Many of these tests may not be available via your doctor since insurance would most likely not cover them.
It gives you freedom to take charge of your own health.
Can I purchase these labs even if I’m not on TRT/HRT yet?
Yes. Many clients order labs to establish a baseline before starting therapy, or to assess hormone, thyroid, or metabolic health before speaking with a provider. These labs are for anyone interested in understanding their body better.
We also over advanced yearly bloodwork that we think everyone should get, as their doctor will not run these full panels.
Again, it’s for you to take charge of your own health.
Where can I order supplements at a discount?
To receive our pricing, a sign-up is required. There is no commitment. Enjoy the 20% off retail! Tell others, as our goal is to help others heal.
Why are you offering labs at a discount?
We work with a large number of clients through Mindful Objective who are on HRT and TRT, and we realized that lab testing is often overpriced, confusing to order, or not specific enough to their needs. Many people aren’t sure which markers to test or how often—and end up either overpaying or missing key health insights.
Our goal is to make the ordering process simple, clear, and affordable, while still providing the high-quality, in-depth labs your provider can use. Helping people understand their health and heal is at the core of what we do—whether that’s through hormone support or our broader work in integrative health. That’s why our pricing stays intentionally low across the board.
Conventional bloodwork vs. functional medicine labs
Imagine your body is a car. Conventional bloodwork is like checking the engine light – it tells you when something is clearly wrong. Functional medicine lab testing is like a comprehensive inspection – it looks for subtle signs of wear and tear, potential issues, and areas for optimization, even if the car seems to be running fine.
